Cisco Certification Training Now Available on SalesConnect

Cisco is decommissioning Partner Education Connection (PEC) and move all content to a new format called SalesConnect. Cisco self-paced Certification training is now available through SalesConnect.

A new revision of CCIE Security to v5

CCIE Security written and lab exams have been revised to version 5.0 utilizing the new modular and unified exam topics format including assessment of evolving technologies. The written and lab exams v5.0 will be available for testing on January 31, 2017.

The last day to test using written exam 350-018 using its corresponding v4.0 exam topics is July 24, 2016. Beginning July 25, 2016, written exam 350-018 using the v4.1 exam topics that includes Evolving Technologies domain will be available for testing at Pearson Vue.

The last day to test using lab exam v4.0 is January 30, 2017.

CCIE Security v5.0 Lab Exam Format

The web-based delivery infrastructure supporting the v5.0 lab exam is very similar to v4.0. The format of the lab exam itself, however, has changed significantly. The v5.0 lab exam now comprises three modules:

  1. Troubleshooting Module
  2. Diagnostic Module
  3. Configuration Module

CCIE Security v5.0 Written and Lab Exam Content Updates

New CCNA R&S v3

The CCNA R&S certification has been updated to get in the latest technologies.

Key updates include:

  • Awareness of Programmable Network (SDN) architectures and the separation of control plane and data plane
  • Expanded VPN topics to include DMVPN, Site-to-Site VPN, and Client VPN technologies
  • Increased focus on IPv6 routing protocols, configuration, and knowledge
  • Understanding of Cloud resources deployed in Enterprise network architectures
  • Knowledge of QoS concepts. Including marking, shaping, and policing mechanisms to manage congestion of various types of traffic

Existing CCENT certified individuals can achieve CCNA R&S certification by passing either ICND2 (200-101 or 200-105) or CCNA composite (200-120 or 200-125) exams.
